The Articles of Association (or simply 'articles') relate the company's internal affairs and how it will be managed by directors in accordance with the shareholders needs. Compliance with the Articles is goverened internally by Shareholders, meaning that any breach will be exempt from external investigation, excluding criminal acts.

Model Articles are available in the form of Table A from Companies House, these have generic statements in about how the company shall be managed. Companies can adopt the contents of Table A, or can construct brand new articles that meet their needs.

The Articles can be amended by submitting a written resolution to Companies House along with the new Articles or Association.
